Yu-Ju Chen is a Distinguished Research Fellow at Academia Sinica, Taiwan. She received her Ph.D. from Iowa State University and conducted postdoctoral training at Ames Laboratory and National Tsing Hua University before joining Academia Sinica’s Institute of Chemistry in 1999, where she later served as its first female Director (2013–2021). Dr. Chen is a global leader in proteomics, recognized for developing ultrasensitive mass spectrometry platforms that advance our understanding of protein post-translational modifications, tissue proteomics, and single-cell analysis. She has authored over 200 SCI publications (H-index 58) and co-invented nanoprobe-based MS technology that led to a cancer diagnostics startup and a National Innovation Award. She initiated the Taiwan Cancer Moonshot Program in partnership with the U.S. Cancer Moonshot, driving translational proteogenomics toward precision oncology. Beyond research, Dr. Chen plays a leading role in scientific communities. She has served as President of the Taiwan Proteomics Society, Taiwan Society for Mass Spectrometry, the Chemical Society in Taipei, Vice President of AOHUPO, and President of HUPO. She currently serves as Associate Editor of Analytical Chemistry and on the Editorial Advisory Board of ACS Omega.

Adam Lewandowski is Deputy Chief Scientist for UK Biobank and Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Science in the Nuffield Department of Population Health at the University of Oxford. He completed his undergraduate studies in Biological Science at the University of Guelph, his Master’s degree in Healthcare Data at the University of Cambridge, and his PhD in Cardiovascular Medicine at the University of Oxford. Adam’s research has largely focused on using multi-modality, deep phenotyping approaches to identify early cardiac and vascular changes in people at risk of cardiovascular disease across the lifecourse, funded by the British Heart Foundation and Medical Research Council in the UK. He joined the UK Biobank’s scientific team as Deputy Chief Scientist to further develop the scientific strategy for future enhancements to the cohort, with a focus on further risk factor characterization and deeper health outcome characterization.

UK Biobank is the world’s most comprehensive source of biomedical data available for health research in the public interest. Over the past 15 years, health and lifestyle information from 500,000 UK volunteers has been collected. The dataset is continuously growing, with additions including the world’s largest set of whole genome sequencing data, multi-organ imaging data from 100,000 participants and a first-of-its kind linked dataset of protein biomarkers from 54,000 participants. Since 2012, scientists from universities, charities, companies and governments across the world can apply to use the data on an equal basis to advance modern medicine and drive the discovery of new preventions, treatments and cures. Over 20,000 researchers, based in more than 60 countries, are using UK Biobank data, and more than 15,000 peer-reviewed scientific papers have been published as a result. The data are de-identified and available to approved researchers on UK Biobank’s secure cloud-based platform. Dr. Tian is a professor at Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech) and serves as the vice president of CNHUPO, co-chair for the new technology sub-project of π-Hub Project, and director of Research Center for Chemical Biology and Omics Analysis, SUSTech. He received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. His research focuses on proteomics technology development and applications in cell signaling and tumor microenvironment. He has published over a hundred papers, including Nature, Nat. Chem. Biol., Cell Chem. Biol., PNAS, and Nat. Commun.

I am a farmer in L’Assomption, on the North Shore of Montreal, on land cultivated by my family since 1790. After studying agronomy at McGill University, I dedicated myself to growing asparagus, strawberries, squash, garlic, tomatoes, cucumbers, and other crops for farm sales and pick-your-own. I am also involved with the Union des producteurs agricoles (UPA) of Quebec and the Association des producteurs de fraises et framboises du Québec (APFFQ), where I serve as vice-president.

Dr. Samira is Mubareka is a virologist, medical microbiologist and practicing infectious disease physician at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre in Toronto, Ontario, Canada and in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathobiology at the University of Toronto. Her research program has focused on respiratory and zoonotic virus transmission. Most recently, to address important research gaps in public health at the human-animal interface, and she has been co-leading wildlife population pathogen surveillance and characterization initiatives around emerging and high consequence viral zoonotic pathogens. This work garnered the 2021 Janet Rossant Lectureship, the T. J. Marrie Lectureship and the Richard G. Hegele Award for Excellence in Research and Innovation. Samira served on the Chief Science Advisor of Canada, Dr. M. Nemer’s COVID-19 Expert Panel, the Implementation Committee of the Genome Canada-led Canadian COVID-19 Genomics Network (CanCOGeN) VirusSeq project, ISED’s Therapeutics Task Force, and the Ontario COVID-19 Science Advisory Table. She chaired the Royal Society of Canada’s COVID-19 One Health Working Group, the RSC’s scientific committees for the G7 One Health Research Summit (2022) and is a CIHR-PHAC Applied Public Health Chair in Pandemic and Health Emergency Prevention, Preparedness, Response and Recovery.

John R. Yates is the Ernest W. Hahn Professor in the Departments of Molecular Medicine and Neurobiology at The Scripps Research Institute. He received a B.A. in Zoology and an M.S. in Chemistry from the University of Maine. He obtained his Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Virginia with Donald F. Hunt. He performed postdoctoral research in the laboratory of Leroy E. Hood at Caltech. His research interests include development of integrated methods for tandem mass spectrometry analysis of protein mixtures, bioinformatics using mass spectrometry data, and biological studies involving proteomics. He is the lead inventor of the SEQUEST software for correlating tandem mass spectrometry data to sequences in the database and developer of the shotgun proteomics technique for the analysis of protein mixtures. He has received numerous awards including the 2015 ACS’s Analytical Chemistry award, 2015 The Ralph N. Adams Award in Bioanalytical Chemistry, the 2018 Thomson Medal from the International Mass Spectrometry Foundation, the 2019 John B. Fenn award from the ASMS, the 2019 HUPO Award in Discovery, and the 2024 Pittsburgh Society Award in Analytical Chemistry. He was ranked as one of the Top 100 Chemists for the decade, 2000-2010 and the Clarivate List of Highly Cited Scientists in 2015 and 2019-2023. He has published over 1100 scientific articles with >180,000 citations, and an H index of 209 (Google Scholar). Dr. Yates served as an Associate Editor at Analytical Chemistry for 15 years and is currently the Editor in Chief at the Journal of Proteome Research.

Dr. Leonard Foster is Professor of Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and Director of the Life Sciences Institute at the University of British Columbia (UBC). Dr. Foster grew up in northern BC and earned his B.Sc at SFU in 1996. He moved to the University of Toronto to complete a doctoral degree in the cell biology and biochemistry of insulin’s effects on adipocytes. From there he went to the University of Southern Denmark to study mass spectrometry and proteomics with Matthias Mann. In 2005 he took up his current position at UBC. Dr. Foster’s group at UBC develops and applies quantitative proteomic methods to study host-pathogen interactions in a variety of systems.

Paola Picotti is Full Professor at the Institute of Molecular Systems Biology at ETH Zurich. Her group develops mass spectrometry-based proteomics technologies and applies these tools to the study of neurodegenerative diseases. A major contribution of the Picotti group is the development of an approach to probe the structural changes of thousands of proteins simultaneously and in situ (LiP-MS). Using LiP-MS, the group characterized the determinants of proteome thermostability, mapped protein-small molecule interactions and demonstrated that global structural analyses provide a new type of molecular readout for pathophysiological changes. Prof. Picotti was awarded the EMBO Gold Medal, the Latsis Prize, the Cotter Award of the US-HUPO, the HUPO Discovery in proteomics sciences award, the SGMS award, the EMBO Young Investigator Award, the Friedrich Miescher Award, the Juan- Pablo Albar award of the European Proteome Association, two ERC Grants (Starting and Consolidator), the Rössler prize and the Leopoldina and EMBO memberships.

Dr. Dior Kelley is a faculty member in the Department of Genetics, Development and Cell Biology at Iowa State University. She received her B.S. in Chemistry from the University of California Santa Cruz and her PhD in Plant Biology from the University of California Davis. Her research program focuses on understanding the genetic basis of root morphogenesis via systems biology approaches in model plants such as Zea mays (maize) and Arabidopsis thaliana (thalecress) with the long-term goal of improving agricultural traits. In addition to research, she teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in Molecular Genetics, Plant Development, and Plant Metabolism. She has received awards for her research, teaching, and innovation at Iowa State University.

Dr. Paola Roncada is Full Professor of Microbiology and Animal Infectious Disease at the University Magna Græcia of Catanzaro, Italy. She earned her Master’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry from the University of Milano in 1995 and completed her PhD in Biochemistry at the University of Sassari in 2001. She then led the Proteomics Group at the Istituto Sperimentale Italiano L. Spallanzani in Milan before joining the University Magna Græcia in 2018, where she was promoted to Full Professor in 2021. Dr. Roncada’s research focuses on applying proteomics within the One Health framework, studying host-pathogen interactions, microbiota adaptations, and food and veterinary health. She has authored over 125 peer-reviewed publications and leads national and international projects investigating microbial and proteomic responses in complex biological systems. She serves as Chair of the One World One Health Initiative at HUPO, past President of the Italian Proteomics Association, and sits on multiple editorial and scientific boards in the field of proteomics and One Health.
